International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination is celebrated every year on March 21st so as to proclaim what happened on March 21, 1960. 69 people died because police opened fire with live ammunition against peaceful protesters in Sharpeville, South Africa. They were protesting against apartheid “pass laws” which required ‘coloured’ and ‘black’ people to essentially have a passport to move around the country. S Did you know that the South African Apartheid system was based on the reservation system in Canada? https://www.academia.edu/310163/Terminologies_of_Control_Tracing_the_Canadian-South_African_Connection_In_a_Word
There are various ways that each and every one of us can help eliminate racial discrimination among institutions and eradicate prejudices against races.
