Today we have You Are More Than Your Body: 30+ Evidence-based strategies for living well with chronic illness by Jennifer Caspari, PhD. "She draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness to explore coping skills, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. I appreciated that the book is not focused only on productivity. Many self-help books seem to take a “just do it” approach, but Caspari recognizes the importance of pacing yourself, saying no, and allowing yourself to rest. This made her advice feel compassionate and realistic."

Happy International Self-Care Day from GRCGED! Se Happy International Self-Care Day from GRCGED!

Self-care looks different for everyone. It can be rest, setting boundaries, asking for support, spending time in community, or taking a moment to notice the things you are grateful for, even if they are small.

For students especially, it can feel like academics always have to come first, but your well-being matters too. No deadline, assignment, or grade is worth completely burning yourself out. Today is a reminder to make space for care, reflection, and whatever helps you feel a little more grounded.
