
GRCGED Volunteer Workshop Series
GRCGED offers a variety of skill and knowledge building workshops for our volunteers. If you aren’t a volunteer and are interested in attending, sign up and Lori, our Volunteer and Resources Coordinator will be in touch. This semester we have 4 workshops, please sign up for each one!
- Intersectional Feminism, October 7th, 1-2:20 Cindy McMann is the public educator for Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis and will be the facilitator for this workshop.
- Peer Support, October 21th, 1-2:20 Peers from the Student Support Network will come talk about how to support peers using active listening and other skills.
- safeTALK, October 28th, 12:30-4 safeTALK is a 3.5-hour training that equips people to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help. Using a simple yet effective model, LivingWorks safeTALK empowers everyone to make a difference.
- Queer and Trans Fundamentals, November 3, 6-8pm Facilitators from Out On The Shelf will go over diverse identities, unlearning biases, learning histories, and how to support gender diverse folks.
